Enlisted on 14 November 1942 at Louisville, Kentucky. Served until 6 January 1946.Served with the 41st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron Throop B [mechanized] 11th Armored Division "Thunderbolt" US 3rd Army in the European Theater. Sailed in July 1944 for England. December 1944 deployed to continental Europe. First combat 30 December 1944 near Remagne, Germany Was at Amstetten, Austria on May 8 1945 and linked up with the Russian Army. Campaigns were Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
