SERVED ON THE USS TICONDEROGA CV-14, AN ESSEX CLASS AIRCRAFT CARRIER FROM 11 OCTOBER 1944 TO 28 OCTOBER 1945 IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. 2 NOVEMBER 1944 SORTIED FROM ULITHI WITH TASK FORCE 38 FOR AIR COVER DURING THE BATTLE OF LEYTE. 21 JANUARY 1945 AIR STRIKE ON FORMOSA, THAT AFTERNOON SHIP HIT BY KAMIKAZE AIRCRAFT SHIP RETURNED TO ULITHI FOR REPAIRS. 28 JANUARY 1945 SAILED FOR PUGET SOUND NAVY YARD FOR MORE REPAIRS. APRIL, 1945 RETURNED TO THE PACIFIC. ENTERED TOKYO BAY 6 SEPTEMBER 1945 THEN RETURNED TO TACOMA, WASHINGTON. RATING OF AVIATION RADIOMAN SECOND CLASS PETTY OFFICER.
