Original Location Jackson Township Orange County

Reinterred December 14, 1976

From DAR records, 1940's...."On the road to Elon is this little group of graves, on a hillside, marked by a cedar tree.
The land was deeded by Willis Cox for a public burying ground, but has been used only for the family. Mrs. Cynthia Ann Weaver Hentgen, dau of Willis Cox, died at Valparaiso, Ind., 2 May 1945, at the age of 76 years and was brought here for burial. Four of her young children had been buried here several years ago."

There are more recent burials in the area allocated to Cox Cemetery, but their relationship to others buried there, if any, is unknown.
