River Chapter DAR
This lone grave is a short distance northeast of the Old Methodist graveyard, in the southeast corner of the northwest quarter of the section. The head stone is broken and leans against a large oak tree. James Baker died soon after coming from Kentucky with his family. Mary Davis Baker, his wife, was a daughter of Thomas Davis, a Revolutionary Soldier. She is buried in the Old Town Cemetery at Paoli. The late Arthur I. Dillard of Paoli, a descendant of James and Mary Baker, copied the inscription, which is viz:
James BAKER born Aug. 12, 1779 died Aug. 12, 1816
