This is an O GEE Shelf Clock, A Seth Thomas from Thomston CT.It came to Orange Co IN., with William and Priscilla Baxter, from Monroe CO KY, at the end of the Civil War.It was in the home of Monta Gene Baxter and would chime and let his mother Mae know the late hour that he came home at night. In 1983, he gave it to Cornelius and Catherine Baxter on their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Cornelius had it repaired and restored and it has passed on to me. I had the original face restored and it is in my home and it keeps excellent time. The clock maker said that it was from after 1850 because it has brass works, he also said that it originally would have had a reverse painting on the glass door.
