COX FAMILY GRAVES

Jackson Township Section 8 T1S R2W Seldom used.

 On the road to Elon is this little group of graves, on a hillside, marked by a cedar tree.

The land was deeded by Willis Cox for a public burying ground, but has been used only for the family. Mrs. Cynthia Ann Weaver Hentgen, dau of Willis Cox, died at Valparaiso, Ind., 2 May 1945, at the age of 76 years and was brought here for burial. Four of her young children had been buried here several years ago. There are 3 stones with inscriptions:


COX, Lucretia; dau of Willis and Mary, 12 Sep 1880-Oct 1881.
COX, Willis; 10 Jun 1841-16 Feb 1913.
COX, Mary; his wife, 2 Feb 1845-9 Sep 1929.
