David and Elizabeth Finley to Samuel Finley, quarter section of land [160 acres] in Jeffersonville, 15 August, 1817, Orange County, IN DB A:70.

This Indenture made this 15 day of August in the Year one thousand eight hundred and seventeen, Between David Finley and Elizabeth is wife of the County of Orange and State of Indiana of the one part and Samuel Finley of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said David Finley for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Finley, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever, One certain tract or parcel of Land in the district of Jeffersonville in said Indiana, known and distinguished at the Map of the said district by the South West Quarter of Section two of Township two North of the base line; In Range one East of the Second principal meridian. To have and to hold, the said Quarter Section of Land unto him the said Samuel, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever, against the claim of him the said David Finley his heirs & against the claim of all persons claiming under them or either of them. In Witness whereof the said David Finley & Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals, the day and Year first above written.

This day David Finley and his wife came personally before me Edward Millis one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County and acknowledged the within Deed of Conveyance to Samuel Finley to be their Act and Deed the said Elizabeth Finley being examined separate and apart from her said husband declared that freely relinquished her right and title of dower in and to the Land therein ensigned Given under my hand and seal.
