The Beatty Connection, 3rd edition, which was first published in 1996 has now been reprinted. It is an account of the Beattys who went from the mountains of East Tennessee into the hills of Southern Indiana. It contains 235 pages plus an every name index. The Orange County Historical Society has published a great book, The Churches of Orange County. Authored by Marjorie Lapping, this 176 page hardback contains photos and text covering all of the churches in the area. Rosters of church members and thier ministers, the manuscript provided great reading for researchers. Dwight Young has written an extensive family history of the Family of Jesse and Peggy Pirtle. This illustrated volume of about 600 pages has 53 chapters, plus a preface, introduction, epiloque and index of names. For further information follow the above link. This book comes highly recommended by Linda Lockhart, who assisted Dwight in his research.The book includes information on several early families of SE Twp., Orange Co. Actually there are few families who are not included.
