CHAPMAN, EDITH NORA - age 96, went to be with our Lord June 2, 1994.
EDITH
was born May 4, 1898 in French Lick, Indiana and later came to the OKC area,
where she spent most of her life.
Mrs. CHAPMAN was preceded in death by her
beloved husband of 54 years, GARRETT H. CHAPMAN and one daughter, MARTALEE
BURDICK.
She is survived by two daughters, ESSIE ADELINE HUTTON of
Lancaster, Ca. and STELLA JERALDINE HILL of Lexington, OK; as well as a
sister, EVA MOHNIKE of Bloomington, Ca.; 4 grandchildren, 7 great
grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. CHAPMAN are
scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 1994, 2:00 p.m. at Bill Merritt Memorial
Chapel, Bethany with interment following at Kolb Cemetery, Spencer, OK

CHASTAIN, HOWARD RUSSELL - 84, died in Fresno on November 17.
Graveside services will be held Friday [November 22] at 1 p.m. in the North
Fork Cemetery.
Mr. CHASTAIN was born in a log cabin at Paoli, Indiana on
September 24, 1918 and served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force
from February 20, 1942 until November 19, 1945. He was retired from Zero
Defects Electronics as a wave solder operator.
He is survived by his wife of
57 years, VELMA CHASTAIN of North Fork; daughters SHARON SWOPE (husband
RICHARD) of North Fork and SANDRA E. BLECHER (husband JEFF) of Bandon,
Oregon. He also leaves a son, DENNIS CHASTAIN of Madera. Mr. CHASTAIN was
grandfather to TRISHA J. PARR (husband JACOB) of Oakhurst and JESSICA
BLECHAR of Bandon, Oregon, and great-grandfather to JESSE PARR and JOSEPH
PARR, both of Oakhurst.

CLAYTON, PAUL TAYLOR - 83, passed away on February 25th, 2003 in Peoria,
Arizona.
Born in Orleans, Indiana on May 6, 1919, the son of JAMES TAYLOR
CLAYTON and LAURA ISABELLE BROWN CLAYTON. He was preceded in death by his
wife of 57 years, MARY OPAL LASLEY CLAYTON. He is survived by 5 children,
RUTH ELLEN ROBERTSON of Yorktown, VIRGINIA BARBARA LOIS BOWMAN of Glendale,
Arizona, ELEANOR MAE FODOR of Avondale, Arizona, JOHN BYRON CLAYTON of
Waddell, Arizona, and REBECCA MARIE DAVIS of Charlotte, North Carolina and
one sister, Mrs. JOSEPHINE STAHLHUT of Indianapolis, Indiana. Also surviving
are thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He graduated from
Orleans High School in 1938. After graduation he worked for the Indiana
University Medical Center for three years.
In January 1941 he went into
active service with the 38th Infantry Division of the Indiana National
Guard. Until April, 1942, he was with the 38th. Following this period, he
spent ten months as an instructor on infantry weapons and map reading in the
Officer Candidate School, Ft. Benning, GA. It was there that he married MARY
LASLEY of Bainbridge, Indiana.
After this tour he was sent to Hawaii where
he learned Jungle warfare methods. After this he saw action in New Guinea
and the Philippines. He was among the first wave of American fighting men to
return to Bataan. It was here during 16 days of furious fighting that he
received his battlefield commission to first lieutenant.
Following an
honorable discharge in 1946, he accepted a position as an electrician with
the New York Central Railroad at Indianapolis, where he worked until he was
recalled to service in October 1950 for the Korean War. He landed at Inchon,
Korea, with the 7th Calvary Regiment of the 1st Calvary Division. He saw
almost continuous front line service for ten months and then came home in
September, 1951. It was after this that he moved his family to Phoenix,
Arizona where he worked as an electrician for Merritt Electric Company.
During the building of the Glen Canyon Dam he supervised the electrical work
in Page, AZ for various buildings, and the new Page School buildings. Near
the end of his career he helped build the Palo Verde Power Plant. PAUL'S
hobby was guns and enjoyed teaching young or old gun safety and proper
handling techniques. During the time when his children were in school he was
involved in Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs. He was also a Royal Ambassador
leader with Valley Heights Baptist Church, of which he was a Charter Member.
He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in the Phoenix area as a Captain in
1959 and retired as an electrician in good standing with Electrical Union
Local #640. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2003 at Chapel
of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. Interment will follow
at Resthaven Park Cemetery.

CLIDINST, SANDRA KAY (KEEVER-BATT) - 57, went to be with the Lord on June
30, 2004.
She died after an extended illness, at St. Vincent Hospital in
Indianapolis.
She was a housewife and child care provider. SANDRA was born
in Paoli, Indiana and resided most of her life in the Muncie area. She
graduated from Central High School in 1964.
SANDRA is survived by her
husband, THOMAS CLIDINST, Muncie; three daughters, KELLY JOHNSON, (husband,
KEITH), Clayton, N.C., CONNIE CLINE, (husband, SKYE), Muncie and LAURIE LYNN
(husband, DAVID), Muncie; two step-daughters, ANGIE CLIDINST and AMY SNEED
(husband, MIKE); a brother, MIKE KEEVER (wife, TERRI); a nephew, DUTCH HURST
(wife, KIM), Muncie; a niece, ANGIE KEEVER, Tennessee; ten grandchildren:
DESTRY LEE Jr., JUSTIN JOHNSON, JARRED LEE, JAMIE JOHNSON, TRAVIS LEE,
KAITLAN LYNN, JACOB LYNN, COBY CLINE, ISIAH SNEED and ASHLEY SNEED; and
several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father,
WAYMON KEEVER and her mother NORMA (BELL) PERKINS.
Funeral services will be
held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 2, 2004 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Burial will
follow the services in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

COLLINS, DOYLE GENE "REDD" - 78, died Sunday, June 22, 2003.
He was born in
Orleans, IN, April 11, 1925. He moved to Jacksonville, FL, from Savannah,
GA, 3 years ago.
REDD served in the U.S. Navy and was a district manager for
IBM/ITT Telecommunications.
Survivors: his wife, BARBARA SMITH COLLINS;
daughter, SUSIE (JOHN) NOWAK of CA; sons, ROCKY (JUDY) COLLINS of UT, and
CHRIS (HEATHER) COLLINS of CA; brothers, LOREN COLLINS of GA, and Don
(PEGGY) COLLINS of FL; and five grandchildren.
The family will honor his
request of cremation each remembering him in their own way. Burial: Orleans,
Indiana at a later date.

CULVER, JOAN R. - age 71, of Tampa, passed away on July 10, 2003 after a
long and courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born in Millersburg,
Indiana, but had made Tampa her home for more than 40 years.
JOAN'S lifetime
was combined with her career, her passion for her family and friends, her
devotion to helping others and her commitment to charity.
She worked for
both Lamont-Shimberg and Trafalger developers, and unselfishly gave her time
to The Spring of Tampa Bay, Meals on Wheels and driving cancer patients for
chemotherapy. She was also an avid gardener, seamstress and gourmet cook who
was thrilled to lavishly share her baked goods, jams and jellies with the
world.
JOAN was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who was
preceded in death by her sons, MARK S. RIFFE and JOHN V. RIFFE.
She is
survived by her loving husband of 27 years, CURTIS G. CULVER; along with
son, GEORGE RIFFE of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter, Constance (Mrs.
RICHARD) CROASDAILE of Cleveland, Ohio; step daughter, RENE (Mrs. LARRY)
LYNCH of Tallahassee, Florida; step son, CHARLES CULVER of Unicoi,
Tennessee; step daughter, SUSAN (Mrs. RODGER) GERSTUNG of Maitland, Florida;
foster daughter, SUE (Mrs. SCOTT) SCHAIVONE of Washington, D.C.; foster
daughter, GERI (Mrs. PAUL) LIS of Dunedin, Florida; daughter-in-law, Noreen
(Mrs. JOHN) RIFFE of Pueblo, Colorado; and grandchildren, GABRIEL, MEGAN and
TAYLOR RIFFE, LAUREN and CAROLINE CROASDAILE, CHRISTOPHER PAULETTE, CHRIS
and SUZANNE LYNCH, GAVIN and MAREK LIS. She is also survived by two
brothers, RAY HOFFMAN of South Bend, Indiana and PHILLIP (ELAINE) HOFFMAN of
Oxnard, California.
Her love and laughter will be greatly missed. A Service
of Remembrance and Celebration of her life with family and friends will be
held on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Magdalene United
Methodist Church, 2902 Fletcher Avenue West, Tampa, Florida.
The family will
receive friends at a reception and luncheon to be held following the
memorial service in Heritage HALL at the Lake Magdalene United Methodist
Church.
The service of interment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park will follow
immediately after the luncheon.
The family would like to gratefully
acknowledge the loving care provided by HCR Manor Care of Carrollwood, Shawn
Corley, Administrator, and his dedicated staff during JOAN'S illness.

DEREMIAH, GLORIA K. - 78, passed away Friday, September 9, 2005.
Born March
13, 1927 in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of GABOR and MARY PINTER
KIRLA who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years,
ROBERT E. DEREMIAH of French Lick, Indiana.
She received her Bachelors of
Science degree in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1948 and was part owner
with her husband of the City Drug Store in French Lick for 37 years. She was
a member of First Baptist Church, West Baden, Tri-Kappa, was previously
church choir director, beloved homemaker, Sigma Kappa Sorority and avid
contract bridge player, a substitute teacher for Springs Valley High School,
Paoli and Dubois Schools. Surviving along with her husband are her children,
BOBBIE E. HALE of Battlement Mesa, Colorado, RICHARD E. DEREMIAH of Spring
Valley, Ohio, BEN H. DEREMIAH of Carmel, Indiana, and KIM G. DEREMIAH of
Zionsville, Indiana. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and three
sisters; BETTY MAE SPEARS, MARGARET PAPUSCH, and VERONICA RING.
Services
will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005 in First Baptist Church, West
Baden, IN, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 in T.L. Pinnick
Mortuary, French Lick and two hours prior to service at the church.

EMMONS, EMIL, SR. - 89, French Lick, died Wednesday at Medco Nursing Home in
French Lick.
Born in Martin County, he was the son of GEORGE and HATTIE
(CONNELL) EMMONS.
He married CLARA OLIVE LEWIS and she died May 4, 1985. He
had been a factory worker and coal miner and was of nondenominational faith.
Surviving are two daughters: AUDRA ANDERSON of French Lick and WANDA LEA
BUFFINGTON of Mitchell; four sons: GEORGE W. EMMONS of Dubois, EMIL E.
EMMONS Jr. of Milford, ESTEL and WILLIAM S. EMMONS, both of French Lick; one
sister, HAZEL LAGENOUR of Huron; 17 grandchildren and several
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and wife.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at
Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home, French Lick, with JOHN BADERSCHER, GARY BROWN
and DALE PARKER officiating.
Burial will follow in Emmons Ridge Cemetery.

FIELDS, JULIA MAE - 76, Paoli, formerly of Eckerty, died at 1:55 a.m.
Wednesday at Orange County Hospital.
She was the daughter of DAVID FRANKLIN
and MAUDE (BENNETT) DEWEESE. She married GRANT A. MATTOX and he died in
1971. She married RUSSELL FIELDS and he died in 1993.
She was a homemaker
and member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are one
daughter, CAROLYN BEERS of Paoli; one sister, OLIVE HAWORTH of Lafayette; a
sister-in-law, HELEN DEWEESE of Paoli; two nephews and one niece.
Services
will be at 1 p.m. Friday at McAdams Mortuary, Paoli, with Bro. LEWIS
WILLIAMS officiating.
Burial will be in Eckerty Cemetery. Friends may call
at the mortuary from 5-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service
Friday.

FLICK, MILDRED ELIZABETH MYNATT - 75, French Lick, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday
at Saint Mary's Hospital, Evansville.
She was born to CHARLES and IDA
(WINEINGER) MYNATT in Cuzco.
She married FLOYD FLICK Sept. 9, 1939 and he
survives. She was a homemaker and a member of Cane Creek Christian Church,
French Lick.
Surviving with the husband are two sons: LARRY S. FLICK of
Paragon, and BARRY DEAN FLICK of Paoli; two brothers: EDWIN C. MYNATT of
Orleans, and HAROLD MYNATT of Dangerfield, Texas; four sisters: EVELYN
COLLINS of Hammond, FERN CONRAD of French Lick, LUCY SCHADT of Orleans and
GRACE JOHNSON of Crossville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; one
step-grandchild; four great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, MARIE HEEKE.
Services
will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home, French Lick,
with Bro. CHARLES CREWS officiating.
Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery,

FLICK, ROY - A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Valhalla
Memory Gardens for ROY FLICK, 72, Bloomington, who died Monday at
Hospitality House in Bloomington. The Rev. HAROLD CARTER will officiate.
Born in French Lick, he was the son of CARL and MARY (GULLETTE) FLICK. He
was a 17-year employee of Indiana University.
Survivors include three
sisters: GRACE DENNY of West Baden Springs, JEWELL GERBER of California and
ATHA COMBS of Loogootee.
Day Mortuary, Bloomington, is in charge of
arrangements.

FREED, HERMAN H., MAJOR - Ret., 90, of Indianapolis, formerly of Orange
County, passed away on Monday, June 14 in Indianapolis.
Born December 11,
1913, in Orange County, he was the son of JOSHUA and LULU BELLE (WIRES)
FREED.
He married DORA M. PIEPER and she preceded him in death in 2000. He
was a graduate of Indiana Teachers College of Terre Haute. He taught at
Leipsic School for two years. In 1935, he began his 55 years of service to
law enforcement and compiled one of the two longest and most distinguished
service records of the department. Major FREED began his career by being
accepted into the first class of the Indiana State Police Training School.
Following active duty retirement in 1967, he became the first executive
director of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and assisted in
establishing its curriculum and advanced training. He was instrumental in
establishing the first and current academy facilities located in Plainfield.
In 1978, he retired as executive director emeritus. In 1979, Governor Bowen
appointed him to the ILEA Advisory Council of the Training Board, a position
he would hold until his third and final retirement in 1990. Until his death,
Major FREED attended all graduation ceremonies from the first to the 157th
at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He was honored by four governors,
being distinguished as a Sagamore of the Wabash, and was also honored as a
Kentucky Colonel twice. He was a 64-year member of the Charity Masonic Lodge
No. 30 in Washington; Evansville Consistory, Scottish Rite; also the B.P.O.
Elks Lodge No. 143, International Association and the Indiana Association of
Chiefs of Police; charter member of International Association of Arson
Investigators; F.B.I. National Academy Associates; Fraternal Order of
Police; and the St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include one
brother, KENNETH V. FREED of Annapolis, Md.; five nieces: SHIRLEY DAUGHERTY
and KATHLEEN ASBURY, both of Orleans, MARALU ATWELL of San Diego, Calif.,
JOANNE LAWRENCE and KATHY MCCLOSKY, both of Reno, Nev.; one nephew, KENNETH
W. FREED; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, DORA M. PIEPER FREED.
Major
FREED'S family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 18 at
Flanner-Buchanan Funeral Center in Speedway, with service at 7 p.m. Also on
Saturday, June 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at McClure-Utt Funeral Home in
Bicknell, with funeral service at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Bethel
United Church of Christ Cemetery in Freelandville.

GRACE, KENNETH GENE - 65, of Orleans died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, August 20, at
Bloomington Hospital.
Born April 10, 1939, in Dryden, Va., he was the son of
ROY and LOLA (BABBS) GRACE. He married MARILYN ROSE TAYLOR July 30, 1959,
and she survives.
He was a former employee of Indiana Limestone Company and
a member of Cornerstone Ministries Church of God. A veteran of the U.S.
Army, he was a member of CECIL C. MARTIN American Legion Post No. 250 of
Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, ROSE GRACE of Orleans; two sons,
RICHARD EUGENE GRACE and KEN LEON GRACE, both of Orleans; one daughter,
SHELLY RENEE GRACE-JOHNSON of Orleans; three brothers, JAMES W. GRACE of
Mitchell, GLENN GRACE of Saltillo and MARSHALL GRACE of Pennington Gap, Va.;
seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; one sister, SHIRLEY BURGIN; and three brothers, ROY
GRACE Jr. and two in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30
p.m. Monday at the Living Waters Church of God of Mitchell, with the Rev. A.
JAY BENNETT officiating.
Burial will be in Tunnelton Cemetery with military
honors to be accorded at the graveside by members of CECIL C. MARTIN
American Legion Post No. 250 and MARVIN R. DAVIS Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone
Ministries Church of God in Orleans, and from 10 a.m. until the time of
service on Monday at Living Waters Church of God in Mitchell. Casket bearers
are TYSON ASBURY, DOUG GRACE, JUSTIN GRACE, JEFF GRACE, KENNY GRACE, RYAN
GRACE, WES GRACE, PERRY REYNOLDS and NAMA TAYLOR. Arrangements are under the
direction of Chastain Funeral Home of Mitchell.

HALL, AGNES LORRENE GROMER -
Born December 16, 1914 in West Baden Springs,
IN. She was the second of three children born to JOHN and CARMIE GROMER.
Mrs. HALL was a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing. She
married CECIL HALL in 1938 and together they had four children: Dr. JERRY
HALL, JEAN WADDY, JOSEPH HALL, and JOYCE WHITING. Mrs. HALL was a nurse at
the Veterans Administration Hospital for 10 years and retired from Community
Hospital in 1977. Mrs. HALL was a member of the Post Road Christian Church.
She was active in the Nature Study Club of Indianapolis. Her interests
included gardening, quilting, square dancing, and preservation of natural
resources.
Mr. HALL preceded her in death. She is survived by her 4
children, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her brother, ROSCOE
GROMER.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association of
Indiana or plant a tree in her honor.
Mrs. HALL was a simple woman who loved
the Lord.
Funeral services for Mrs. HALL will be Wednesday, March 9 at 10:00
a.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St.,
with visitation Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

HAYES, DOROTHY K. HUNTER - 90, of Orleans, died Friday morning at the
Heritage House in Salem, Indiana.
She was born June 22, 1914, in
Campbellsburg, to ORANGE DUNCAN and ORA ETHEL SMITH HUNTER. She was raised
from the age of four by EFFIE TRINKLE. She was a homemaker and a member of
Carters Creek Christian Church and the Campbellsburg Home Ec Club.
She
married FRED. D. HAYES on December 6, 1933, and he preceded her in death
on February 28, 1987.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, RICHARD
and JANICE HAYES of Campbellsburg and by her daughter and son-in-law, NANCY
and WILLIAM SLOANE of Orleans.
Surviving grandchildren are RENEE (GREG)
LAMB, JOHN (JANA) HAYES, GINA (CHUCK) WALKER, CINDY (RANDY) EWING, all of
Salem, ROBIN (JEFF) BERNING of Orleans, and MINDY (JASON) HUNTER of Lipton.
Great-grandchildren are NICOLE, COURTNEY and CHELSEA LAMB, COLLIN HAYES,
LOGAN, BAILEY, and BRITTNEY WALKER, EMILY HUNTER, MADISON and HUNTER EWING,
and BRYCE BERNING. Step-great-grandchildren are TYLER and KYLE LEWANDOWSKI
and CASSIE and LAUREN BERNING.
She was preceded in death by a son, JOHN
FRANKLIN HAYES, and an infant brother.
The funeral will be Tuesday, January
4, 10:30 a.m. at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans, with Bro. EUGENE
PRUETT officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Orleans. Friends

Born in
Wheatland, he was the son of MARTIN and CATHERINE BLAGRAVE HENDRIXSON. He
married CARMEN HUESTON and she survives.
He was an Army veteran of World War
II and worked as an auto mechanic in French Lick, West Baden and Muncie.
Surviving with his wife are six daughters: JEAN NORDHOFF of Jasper, NINA KAY
BURTON of McMinville, Tenn., JENNY HART of Ridgeville, CATHY CLARK of New
Albany, SHERYL MILLSPAUGH of Anderson, and LISA HENDRIXSON of Holland; a
son, STEVEN HENDRIXSON of Muncie; 13 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Brosmer-Drabing
Funeral Home, French Lick, with Rev. JACK WILSON officiating.

Born in Orange County,
she was the daughter of GILBERT and IONA (WELLS) ANDIS. She married RALPH M.
JONES on July 30, 1949, and he died Aug. 14, 1983. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons: BRADLEY and RALPH JONES Jr., both of Mitchell, and
MARK S. JONES of French Lick; two daughters: MARSHA FREE of Paoli and
MARCELLA SCHRADER of Mitchell; four sisters: MAXINE ALLEN, MARY BLEVINS and
BETTY FRAVELL, all of Paoli, and JUNE MCDONALD of Cookeville, Tenn.; four
brothers: DALE and GILBERT ANDIS Jr., both of Paoli, WILLIAM ANDIS of French
Lick and DAVID ANDIS of Orleans; 17 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren.

LANKFORD, PAUL F. - 70, Paoli, died at 9:08 p.m. Monday at Orange County
Hospital, Paoli.
Born in Paoli, he was the son of CLIFTON and DOROTHY
(SLATEN) LANKFORD. He married MARGARET L. MORRIS July 4, 1947 and she died
Oct. 19, 1990. He was a farmer and a Navy veteran of World War II. He drove
a bus for the Paoli School Corp. 23 years, and was a retired truck driver
for Perkins Furniture Transport. He was a member of Paoli Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons: LARRY LANKFORD of Paoli and GARY LANKFORD of
Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters: BETTY JO HENDERSON of Orleans and CAROL ANN
PAYTON of Paoli; one sister, RUTH COLLINS of Paoli; 10 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother, ROBERT LANKFORD.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kemple
Funeral Home, Paoli, with NORMAN WARD officiating.

MARSHALL, JAMES `JC' -
Memorial service for JAMES C. "JC" MARSHALL, 74, will
be today at 10 a.m. at Coeur d'Alene Bible Church. Yates Funeral Home in
Coeur d'Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. MARSHALL, who was born in
French Lick, Ind., died last Wednesday. He was a star member his high school
basketball team in French Lick and attended college on a basketball
scholarship. Mr. MARSHALL met his future wife, BETTY "BO" BORSVOLD in 1951,
while serving with the 92nd Bomb Wing at Fairchild Air Force Base. He
received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Franklin College and did
his graduate work at Indiana University. Mr. MARSHALL then began a corporate
career in Canton, Ohio. He moved to North Idaho in 1974. In 1985 he moved to
Hayden and founded Bandz Inc., a medical products manufacturing company. He
was involved in the state and national skeet shooting associations and
earned competition skeet-shooting--> titles, including the 1968 and 1969
world five-man team championships. Mr. MARSHALL also enjoyed horses and
operated a small thoroughbred racing stable for 25 years. He received the
Washington Special Breeder Award in 2002. He was a member of Coeur d'Alene
Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, CLIFF MARSHALL of
Cataldo, Idaho, and JEFF MARSHALL of West Richland, Wash.; two sisters,
LORRAINE CHARNES of Cape Coral, Fla., and NORMA BROCK of Bedford, Ind.; and
five grandchildren.

MOORE, GRACE CLOE HOWELL - of Dubois, formerly of French Lick, passed on to
glory Wednesday morning, Jan. 3rd.
GRACE was born on Aug. 9, 1916, to FRANK
and MARTHA HOWELL in Martin County, Ind. GRACE was married to RAYMOND ELVIS
MOORE on Oct. 20, 1933.
She leaves behind three sons, GEORGE BOYD MOORE of
Goldsboro, N.C., GERALD LEE MOORE of Dubois, and ROBERT WILLIAM MOORE of
Orleans; their wives; twelve grandchildren and seventeen
great-grandchildren; two sisters, EDITH CAUBLE of Portland, Ore., and ALTA
ALBERSHARDT of Indianapolis.
GRACE was preceded in death by her son, RAYMOND ELLIS MOORE, on Nov. 19, 1934; her husband on June 6, 1984; her mother and
father; four sisters and three brothers. GRACE was a loving wife to her
husband, a loving mother to her sons, her grandchildren and her
daughters-in-law. Special mention is made of her daughter-in-law, LEONA, who
cared for her for several years. GRACE always knew she could count on LEONA
when she needed help.
Her sons are very grateful for the love and attention
she gave their Mom. GRACE was retired from the Spring Valley Corp., and was
a member of The Church at Powell Valley.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel at Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home in French
Lick. Brother RANDY STEVENS will officiate.
Burial will follow in Emmons

Born in Knox
County, she was the daughter of CHARLES O. and FLORA B. (HANCOCK) HAGEMIER.
She married WILBER MYERS Oct. 28, 1922 and he survives. She was a homemaker,
attended Bethel Church and was a member of Orleans Church of Christ.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters: JANICE IDELL NONTE of Paoli,
MAXINE WILSON MEADE of French Lick and BONNIE MAE RAGAN of Indianapolis; one
brother, ROBERT HAGEMIER; two sisters: CLARASSIE CARROLL of Mitchell and
MARY RUTH AKERS of West Baden; five grandchildren including JAMES CASSIDY of
Orleans, who was raised as a son; 11 great-grandchildren, 12
step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nine
step-great-great-grandchildren, one aunt, one uncle and several nieces and
nephew s.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, MILDRED CASSIDY; her
parents and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at
Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home, French Lick, with JOHN ISAAC EDWARDS
officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Orleans.

PATTON, DANNY L. - 50, Indianapolis, died Friday, March 5, 2004.
DANNY was
born December 17, 1953 in French Lick, Indiana, son to ROBERT and VIOLET
BEAR and the late HARRY PATTON. He was preceded in death by his sister,
GOLDIE "SIS" and PATTON KELLER and his grandparents.
DANNY is survived by
his wife BETH; one son; DANIEL PATTON; one daughter, GOLDIE; his parents,
ROBERT and VIOLET BEAR; one brother, KEVIN BEAR; three sisters, LANA
DAVENPORT, ROBIN AMMONS and JULIE TIMBS; several nieces, nephews, aunts,
uncles and cousins.
He was a man who enjoyed the outdoors and loved to be
with his family. Now he is with the angles and his beloved sister and
grandparents.

Born in Shoals, he was the son of EDWARD and BERTHA
(STRINGER) POWELL. He married ROBERTA BEYERS and she survives. He was a
World War II Navy veteran, a battery repairman at the Naval Surface Warfare
Center-Crane and a member of American Legion, French Lick.
Surviving with
his wife are two sons: MIKE POWELL of Paoli and KENNY POWELL of French Lick;
one daughter, MARSHA ANDREWS of West Baden Springs; one stepson, CLARK BROWN
of Bedford; one stepdaughter, DOREATHA WALLS of Fort Wayne; one brother,

and BETTY ARCHER of French Lick; three grandchildren, five

QUALKENBUSH, NORMAN L. - 61, R.2, French Lick, died at 9:44 p.m. Monday at
Orange County Hospital, Paoli.
Born in Indiana, he was the son of ALBERT and
THELMA (KENDALL) QUALKENBUSH. He was a disabled veteran, serving in the
Marines from December 1952 to June 1953. He was a member of French Lick
American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Worthington, Combat Veterans
Association and Sheriff's Association.
He is survived by one son, BERT
QUALKENBUSH of Pensacola, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
The body was
cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pensacola, Fla.

Convalescent Center.
Born in Findley, Ill., she was the daughter of CHARLES
and BESSIE (LEE) WOMACK. She married HERSCHEL BUCHANAN Dec. 21, 1921, and he
died in 1974. She was a caregiver for the elderly for many years and a
member of the Church of Christ in Findley, Ill.
Surviving are one daughter,
NANCY CATHERS of Paoli; one sister, HAZEL ROCKWOOD of Kentucky; four
great-granddaughters and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; several brothers and sisters and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McAdams Mortuary, Paoli, with Bro.
KEVIN KEY officiating. Burial will be in Stampers Creek Cemetery. Friends

Born in French Lick, he was the son of JOHN DAVID and DICIE MAY (NICHOLSON) COOPER. He married MARY V. Fields Jan. 16, 1974, and she preceded him in death July 4, 1996. He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by one daughter, PEGGY SUE GONTAR of Ophila, Va.; one son, GARY COOPER of Pittsburgh; two brother: ESTEL COOPER and OLIVER COOPER, both of French Lick; three sisters: GRACE STEWART of French Lick, HAVRE GOLLER of Washington and ELSIE JONES of Paoli; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, MARY V. COOPER; one brother, ARTHUR COOPER; and one sister, FRANCES SHEPHERD.

Born in Orange County, he was the son of EARL and PEARL (WININGER) KENDALL. He married BETTY REID on April 17, 1953, and she survives. He was a truck driver for 34 years and founded KENDALL Trucks and Parts in Orleans. He retired in November 1992. He was an Army veteran, a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Orleans American Legion Warren Brock Post No. 69, American Truck Historical Society and served in the Orange County Sheriff Reserve.
Surviving in addition to his wife, BETTY KENDALL of Orleans, are four sons: MICHAEL BISH of Wawaka, HAROLD Jr. and GREG KENDALL, both of Paoli, and KEVIN KENDALL of Rockport; two daughters: PAMELA BISH of Austin, Texas and VICKI POGUE of Bloomfield; three brothers: FLOYD KENDALL of French Lick, KENNETH and J. DALE KENDALL, both of Paoli; two sisters: PAULINE TUSSEY of Jeffersonville and CARLOTTA COOK of Sandborn; and eight grandchildren.

WININGER, ALLAN G. - 66, Tularosa, N.M., formerly of Orange County, died Wednesday in Las Cruces, N.M.
Born in Orange County, he was the son of HARLEY and ROMA (KERNS) WININGER. He was a retired electrical engineer for the U.S. government and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his mother of Paoli; two sons: DAN WININGER of Albuquerque, N.M., and TED WININGER of Rolling Hills, Texas; two sisters: BETTY WALKER of Paoli and SHIRLEY MAGNER of Bloomington; and four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be today at Sears-Alamogordo Funeral Home, Alamogordo, N.M., with burial following in Alamogordo, N.M. Local information was provided by Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home, Orleans.

ASHWORTH, NINA R. - 81, of, Indiana, formerly of Morgantown, died Thursday morning at the Medical Center of Southern Indiana in Charlestown, Indiana.
She was born June 30, 1922, in Morgantown, to HARRY and NINA CHURCH ROSIER. She married JOSEPH T. ASHWORTH, Orleans, who survives. She was a retired schoolteacher and taught in West Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Indiana.
She was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II and a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Morgantown.
She is survived by her husband, of Orleans; one son, MATTHEW ASHWORTH, of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, MARGARET ANNE LEINART, Orleans; one brother, HARRY L. ROSIER, of Greensboro, N.C.; and a sister, MATTIER DICARLO, Belair, Md. There are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
The public is welcome to come to a memorial service on Sunday, July 6, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans, with the Rev. MICHAEL WILLIAMS officiating. The body will be cremated.

BELL, JOHN NORMAN - 78, of French Lick died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday at his residence.
He retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, in 1976, and had also worked at French Lick Springs Resort.
He was a veteran of the U.S. military, having served during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, BETTY LOUISE (ROACH) BELL of French Lick; two sons: GORDON BELL Sr. and RANDALL BELL, both of French Lick; one daughter, LINDA ALLEN of French Lick; one sister, BETTY LOUISE SCOTT of Osgood; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brosmer-Drabing Funeral home in French Lick. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery near French Lick. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service Wednesday.

ALVIS BEATY (1894-1984) SERVICES SET FRIDAY
Alvis C. Beaty, age 90, Rt. 2, Paoli, died at 12:20 AM. Wednesday, July 19 at Bloomington Hospital.
He was born May 15, 1894 in Orange County to George and Jane Seybold Beaty.
He was a retired employee with Western Electric Company, Chicago; and a member of the South Liberty Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Coen Beaty of Sun City, Ariz.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held from Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home, with burial in South Liberty Cemetery.
Friends may call the funeral home after 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Eliza Jane Beatty
Eliza Jane, daughter of Joseph and Nancy Seybold, was born September 22, 1869, and passed away November 7, 1958, at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 15 days. She was married to George H. Beatty in 1888 and this union was born two sons, Will, who passed away in 1956, and Alvis, who survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Lucy Bledsoe of French Lick, and a brother, Guy Seybold of Terre Haute.
She leaves to mourn her passing three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, tighter with a host of relatives, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were conducted by Evangelist O.W. Scott at South Liberty Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial in the cemetery there.
