Thomas Cox, the son of Elizabeth Reese Cox Harmon Wise (aka Granny Wise), was born in North Carolina in 1795. While in his youth he traveled with his family from North Carolina to Orange County. His descendants populated the French Lick area of the county. The surnames related to this Orange County pioneer include the Agans, Beattys, Bledsoes, Bollings, Burtons, Callahans, Case, Clements, Collins, Condra, Cope, Cox, Dillard, Drake, Ellis, Emmons, Flick, Gass, Groomer, Harmon, Hobson, Hubbs, Kellams, Lashbrooks, Lindsey, Luttrell, McDonald, McIver, Mills, Morris, Owens, Parks, Parson, Pinnick, Rodgers, Sawdye, Simmons, Thompson, and Wilsons to name just a few. Thomas Cox died on January 03, 1862 and is buried in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
This man was Marvin's third great grandfather and my third great granduncle.
