   This Indenture made this 27th day of December in the year A.D. eighteen hundred and thirty four between William Kilgore Sheriff of the County of Parke in the State of Indiana of the first part and George Wilkins of the County and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that whereas heretofore towit on the first day of December A.D. 1834 a certain writ of execution issued from the office of the clerk of the Circuit Court of said county in the words and figures following towit State of Indiana of Parke County.  The State of Indiana to the Sheriff of said County greeting, we command you, as we heretofore commanded the sheriff of Fountain County, that of the goods and chattels lands and tenements which may be found in your Bailiwick to cause to be levied the sum of thirteen dollars nine and one half cents, a fine and costs which State of Indiana lately in our circuit court before our judges at Rockville recovered against him in an indictment of an assault and battery, whereof said Lewis convicted as appears to us on record, and have you that money ready at the office of the Clerk of our said court at Rockville on the fourth Monday in February to be paid to the said state of Indiana and have then there this writ.  Witness John G. Davis clerk of our said court at Rockville the first day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.  And of the back of which said writ of execution is the following endorsement and action made by the sheriff towit received this on the first day of December A.D. 1834 and for want of goods and chattels I levied on the N.E. fraction of Section 3 T17R9west and on the 27th day of December I sold the same for twenty seven dollars to George Wilkins twenty two dollars and thirty nine cents satisfying this execution and the balance is in Wilkins hands William Kilgore Sheriff Parke County.  Now therefore I the William Kilgore as aforesaid in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars and thirty nine cents to me in hand paid by the said George Wilkins the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and by virtue of the aforesaid writ of execution, and in conformity to the statue laws of said state in such cases made and provided have given granted  bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and convey unto the said George Wilkins together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances thereunto in any wise belonging to him and his heirs and assigns forever, and I do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said George Wilkins that I will and do by these presents sell and convey the said tract of land to him the said George Wilkins and his heirs and assigns forever fully and effectively to all interests and purposes as I can do under and by virtue of the said writ of execution and the laws of said state of Indiana in such cases made and provided and that I will warrant and defend the said promises under and by virtue of the powers and authority vested as sheriff as aforesaid.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal officiallythe day and year first above written.

State of Indiana County Parke - Be it remembered that on this fourth day of May A.D. 1835 before me John G Davis the Recorder in and for said County personally came William Kilgore the grantor named in the foregoing deed of conveyance and acknowledged the same to be his voluntary official act as Sheriff of said County.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year first above written.
