This Indenture made this the 4th day of May
A.D. 1835 between George Wilkins of Parke County state of Indiana of the one
part, and Norbourn Thomas of Fountain County state of Indiana of the other
part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration
of the sum of twenty seven dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, do hereby give grant bargain sell and convey unto the said party
of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract or
parcel of land situated lying and being in the county of Parke State of Indiana
and for sale in the Crawsfordsville lands district towit North east fraction of
Section three in Town seventeen North of Range Nine west containing fifty
acres, more or less. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained
premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto
the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all the right
title and interest that the party of the first part hath in the above bargained
premises and no more right or title that the said party of the first part, has
in the said promises by virtue of a deed from the Sheriff of Parke County State
of Indiana made on the sale of said premises on the 27th day of December 1834,
by virtue of an execution in his hand in favour of the state of Indiana against
Lewis Thomas at which sale said party of the first part became the purchaser and
that he will not warrant or defend said premises any farther than the title
derived through him and this he warrants and defends against the lawful claims
and demand of all person.

first has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

personally came George Wilkins the grantor named in the above deed of
conveyance and acknowledged the signing and sealing said deed to be his act and
