   This Indenture made this the sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two between William Floyd of the County of Parke and State of Indiana of the first part and George Wilkins of the County of Parke and Sttate of Indiana of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to the said party of the first part and by the party of the second part in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain alien sell convey and unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all the following described piece or parcel of land: the North East quarter of the South East Quarter of Section Twenty (20) in Township Seventeen North of Range Seven West containing forty acres together with all the rights privileges and appurtenances belonging To have and to hold the above described premises with all the improvements and appurtenances the same belonging to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part for himself and his heirs do hereby covenant with the said party of the second part and his heirs and that he is lawfully seized in fee of the premises aforesaid and have good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever and that he will forever warrant and defend the same and the quiet and peaceable possession thereof together with the appurtenances to the same belonging or apurtaining unto the said George Wilkins his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

I David Conolly one of the justices of the peace of said county do hereby certify that the above William Floyd came to me and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.  In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal at Annapolis this sixteenth day of August A.D. 1852
