This Indenture Witnesseth, That Samuel
Jordan and Polly Jordan his wife of Parke County in the State of Indiana,
convey and warrant to George Wilkins of Parke County, in the State of Indiana
for the sum of Five thousand Dollars, the following Real Estate in Parke County
in the State of Indiana, to-wit; The south east quarter and the east half of
the south West qr of Sect three (3) Town sixteen (16) north of Range eight (8)
west also two acres in the NE corner of the west half of the south west quarter
of said section laying East of the fountry? branch and
south of Sugar Creek and known as the old Mill Lot. Except five acres in a triangular shape in
the NE corner of said half section and one acre in the south east corner of
said south east quarter bounded to wit;
Commencing at said south east corner running thence west sixteen (16)
poles thence north ten (10) poles thence east sixteen (16) poles east thence
south ten poles to place of beginning: Except also a tract of land bounded to
wit: commencing twenty two poles east of SW corner of the south east quarter of
said section three running thence west of north along the line of an old county
road not now in use fifty four (54) poles to a stake thence west four (4) poles
thence north twelve (12) poles thence west forty four (44) poles thence north
twenty two (22) poles thence west to the west line of the east half of the
south west quarter of said Section three (3) thence south along said line to
the south line of the aforesaid section three thence east along said line to
the place of beginning. The tract of
land hereby conveyed containing one hundred and ninety two acres to the same more
or less.
In witness whereof the said Samuel Jordan
and Polly Jordan his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals this 24 day
of April 1874.
