Pike County Townships Tractor Runs

Join Us!  COME ENJOY THE SIGHTS OF PIKE COUNTY

FROM THE SEAT OF A TRACTOR
September 25, 2010, starting at 9:00 am

Our next Tractor Drive will be on Saturday, Sep 25 and will leave from the Spurgeon Fire Station.   Registration starts at 8:00, then opening ceremonies at 9:00 followed by the line-up for the drive at 10:00.

( Pike County time)  As in the past there is no registration fee for this drive.  It is being sponsored by the Winslow Lions Club, as have the past two.  The drive will follow some of the back roads of Monroe and Lockhart townships and include a visit to Cup Creek Valley Maple and the farm museum with the collections of Boyd and Opal Woolsey.   Lunch will be prepared by the St. Peters Lutheran Church Ladies in Stendal.   As last year, menus will be available at the Fire Station before departing on the drive. This is where you will make your selection of food or you may wish to bring your own sandwiches. The drive will be approximately 30 miles long.

A DVD will be made of this drive, as we did in 2008 and 2009.   The past two years DVD's are available for $20.00 each, plus $4.00 postage for mailing.  Call Jim Lamey 789-2688 or email at julamey@yahoo.com if you wish to purchase a DVD.  The very first tractor run was in parts of Patoka and Marion Township and in 2009 the run was made in parts of Logan and Clay Townships in Pike County. Jim and Sherry Lamey are also preparing a Mine DVD which they will also have for sale for $20.00, plus $4.00 shipping. They will have on it information from the Museum of the Coal Industry in Lynnville, plus information about the Blackfoot Mine and the Enos Mines, starting about 1918 up to the closure in 2000.  They have devoted so much of their time and effort not only to these tractor runs but the formulating of the DVDS.
