Dorothy Evelyn (Dausmann) Chaffee, 94, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012.

She was born in Posey County on March 23, 1918.

Dorothy graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1936 and Lockyear's Business College in 1938. Dot worked for Manpower and other temporary employment agencies. She was skilled in bookkeeping and office organization. Dot enjoyed crocheting, sewing and most recently plastic canvas needlework. She also enjoyed "tweaking" recipes.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ez (Ezra) Chaffee, in 1988; her parents Charles and Hazel (Schieber) Dausmann; sister, Ruth Thomas; brothers, Charles and Paul Robert Dausmann.

She is survived by her niece, Deborah Dausmann-Kennedy; nephew, Paul Robert Dausmann, Jr.; sister-in-law, Phyllis Dausmann and special friends, Jeanie & Dennis Rogers, Barbara Russell, Pearl Perryman and family, and Norma.

The family would like to thank the Home Instead Senior Care for their special care of Dorothy.

There will be no funeral services per Dorothy's request. Graveside interment of ashes will be at Bellefontaine Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, on November 9th. Contact Alexander North Chapel for details.
