Winifred Ann Morrison, 83, of Evansville born to Paul and Anna (Martin) Blackford on January 23, 1929 in New Harmony Indiana passed away November 27, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Brentwood in Evansville, Indiana.

Winifred was a graduate of New Harmony High School. She attended Kent State University - Ashtabula, Ohio, in her fifties where she received her Registered Nurses Degree. She worked as a Surveyor for the Indiana State Board of Health, inspecting nursing homes.

Winifred is survived by a son: Steve (Catherine) Morrison of Gahanna, Ohio; three daughters: Jane Morrison of Prescott, Arizona, Brenda Morrison of Evansville, Indiana and Donna Morrison of Cleveland, Ohio, a granddaughter she raised: Jayna (Rusty) Ulm of Evansville, Indiana, three step-daughters: Mary (Bob) Green of Prescott, Arizona, Tanya (Ronnie) Johnson of Newton, Illinois and Janice (Fred) Dealexandro also of Newton, Illinois; a sister: Ruth Greenman of San Luis Obispo, California; a brother: Garland (Jeri) Blackford of Melbourne, Florida; nephew Kim (Cheryl) Kiltz of Vincennes, Indiana; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Winifred was preceded in death by her parents; husband and love of her life for over forty years: Reuben I. Morrison; four brothers: Paul Jr., Bill, Tom and Jack Blackford and two sisters: Mildred Blackford and Helen Stone.

Winifred was a lifelong member of New Harmony Christian Church and a special service is planned Sunday, December 2, 2012 during their church service at 10 a.m. to celebrate Winifred’s life.

In lieu of a funeral a memorial will follow next year when all of her family from out of town can attend.

She will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony, Indiana
