Elaine Martin, 65, of Marion, Ky., died January 9, 2013, as the result of an automobile accident.

She was born on February 11, 1947, in Maunie, Ill., the daughter of Wayne and Aliene (Koontz) Walker.

Elaine retired from the United States Postal Service after many years as an employee of the Mount Vernon Post Office. She was a very devoted member of her church, Enon Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Donald of Marion, Ky.; daughter, Heather Jones of Mount Vernon, Ind.; stepdaughter, Donna Martin of Evansville, Ind.; stepson, Dennis Martin of Mount Vernon, Ind.; sister, Sherri Hemrich of Newton, Ill.; brother, Norman Walker of Mumsford, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Cassie Jones of Mount Vernon, Ind. and Zach Martin of Evansville, Ind.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Enon General Baptist Church in Marion, Ky., with burial in Cullen Cemetery.

Visitation was held beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013, at Melton Funeral Home in Providence, Ky., and from 1 – 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 12 at Enon General Baptist Church. Melton Funeral Home in Providence, Ky. handled all the arrangements.
