Jane E. Morgan, age 87 of Mount Vernon, Ind., died Sunday afternoon Jan. 6, 2013, at the New Harmonie Healthcare Center.

She was born June 23, 1925, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of George and Gladys (Woodward) Krug.

She married Russell L. Morgan and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2004.

Jane was a 1943 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She was a homemaker and caregiver to her family. She loved animals especially her dog.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, George L. and Debbie Morgan of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Lynn Katzenberger of Wilmington, N.C.; three grandchildren, Mark R. Katzenberger, Benjamin Morgan and Sethlyn Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Ainsley and Audrey Katzenberger.
She is preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Kimberly Katzenberger; a brother George William Krug and a son-in-law, Mark Katzenberger.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. Fourth St., in Mount Vernon with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
