Douglas G. Patton, 67, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville with family and friends by his side after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on August 20, 1945 in Kasson, IN the son of Earl and Geneva (Hill) Patton.

Doug owned and operated Doug's Standard Station in Poseyville for 47 years. He was a member of the NRA the NFIB and was of Christian faith.
Doug enjoyed life to the fullest and had many joys in life including going to auctions, classic cars, motorcycle riding, fishing, camping, and RC car racing, but his biggest passion in life was working at the business he started in 1965.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Judith (Burkett); sons, Steven (Melody) Patton of Stewartsville and Stewart and his fiancée Kim Dickey of Denver, CO; 4 grandchildren, Keith and Stephanie Patton, Joseph and Alyssa Schmitt; his mother Geneva Patton of Stewartsville; brother, Robert Gates of New Harmony; brother-in-law Dr. Chester (Kandi) Burkett; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl and a brother, Gerald Gates.

Services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul E. Huntsman officiating. Burial will be in the Poseyville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the service time on Friday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville.
