Paul L. Brush, 89, of Mt. Vernon, died May 9, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville.

 

He was born December 29, 1923 in Marion, IL, the son of Willie Richard and Hattie (Turnage) Brush.

 

He married Hazel M. Bradley on November 13, 1954 and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1981

Mr. Brush retired from the U.S. Air Force, after serving 21 years, during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge, VFW Post #11364, and Owen Dunn American Legion Post #5. 

He is survived by one sister, Ruby Petty John of Decatur, IL, nieces and nephews, Patricia, Debra, Gary, Karen and James and his family, David Lee and Irene Johnson of Mt. Vernon and David Eric and Theresa Johnson of Mt. Vernon and Crystal and Mitch Ramsey of Paducah, KY. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Glenn Brush and a sister Gladys Montgomery. 

Graveside funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Military Rites conducted by Owen Dunn American Legion Post #5.

 

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon
