Clinton G. Koester, 90 of Wadesville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

Clinton was a farmer, he worked at the Evansville Ship Yards during W W II, and retired from Kern Brothers. He was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church and the Knights of St. John at St. Wendel.

Surviving Clinton is his wife of 65 years, Mary (Maurer) Koester, three daughters, Judy Ann Koester Bittner, Janie (Steve) Herrmann both of St. Wendel, Betty (Chris) Sitzman of Evansville, three sons, Donald (Mary) Koester, Steven (Bridget) Koester, David (Melissa) Koester all of St. Wendel, sister, Sally Barrett of Evansville, brother, Leon (Peggy) Koester of Evansville. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, Shawna (Chris) Reed, Sherri (Adam) Mueller, Andy Koester, Brent (Kelly) Koester, Nathan Koester, Jessica (Jason) Michl, Brandon Sitzman, Matthew Herrmann, Caitlin Herrmann, Ann Bittner, Jillian Koester, Jarrod Koester, Johnson Koester, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Urban, Edward, Oscar, Anthony, Ralph and sisters, Ludwinda Eisenhauer and Eloise Conen.

A mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Friends visited with the family from 2 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there was a memorial service at 3 p.m. Friends also visited from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
