Everett D. Topper, 93, son of Raymond and Pina (Bonenberger) Topper, passed away August 10, 2013.

He graduated from MVHS in 1938. He married Emily Jean Rowe July 6, 1944. Everett was in military service four years – one year as a bombardier in the European theater. He was an active member of Black’s Chapel United Methodist Church for many years. He worked at the Farm Bureau refinery until his retirement in 1982.

Everett is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter Barbara (Jim) Wiggins of Greenville, TX; son Charles (Teresa) Topper of Mt. Vernon; brother Richard Topper of Mt. Vernon. Also surviving is grandson Erik (Lori) Wiggins of Copperas Cove, TX and their children, Rebeka and James; grand-daughters Angela (Sarah) Topper and daughter, Jazzmyne of Westport, IN and Dawn J. Topper of Evansville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Ralph, Charles and Kenneth.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Jim Stauber and burial to follow at Bellefontaine Cemetery

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
