MRS GEORGE ALEXANDER

1838-1896

The remains of Mrs. George ALEXANDER, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., were brought to Madisonville Saturday evening on the Providence train from  Evansville for interment. The body was carried Sunday to Pleasant Grove cemetery, where it was deposited by the side of loved ones who had gone before.

Mr. ALEXANDER had for years been a citizen of Indiana, though formerly of Hopkins county. He was at Evansville for treatment, where he died. He was 58 years old, and when a young man married a Miss LYNN who died about ten years ago. He leaves several children, all of whom are  either grown or nearly so. He was said to be a good man. (Source: Madisonville Hustler, Fri., Feb. 7, 1896) note: In searching the HCGS cemetery  books, I find no monument to him in the Pleasant Grove cemetery where his wife has a stone.
