LAURA JANE LUPTON ALLDREDGE

Mrs Laura Jane Lupton Alldredge, 81, wife of Joseph Welborn Alldredge and a life-long resident of Posey county, died at 9:35 a.m. today in Deaconess Hospital.

Critically ill of diabetic seven weeks, Mrs. Alldredge entered Deaconess Hospital a week ago from her home at 515 Mill street a few days after she returned home from three weeks' hospitalization at St. Mary's in Evansville.

The deceased and her 82 year old husband were of pioneer Posey county ancestry.  They would have been married 57 years on the coming Monday.  Most of their married life was spent in the Grafton vicinity where Mr. Alldredge engaged in farming.  They had resided in Mt. Vernon for the last 14 years.

Mrs. Alldredge's parents were William Lupton, a Civil War veteran who came to Posey county at the age of 21 years from his native Yorkshire England and Janne Ratcliffe Lupton a native of Lancaster, England.

The deceased was a member of Welborn Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid, Progress camp of Royal Neighbors of America and Grafton Home Demonstration Club.

The body is at Weisinger Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday.  Rev. J. Kenneth Forbes, minister of First Methodist Church, will conduct the funeral service in Weisinger chapel at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

Surviving, in addition to the husband, are a daughter, Mrs. O. D. Benner, Mt. Vernon; a son, Malcolm W. Alldredge, Evansville, and four grandchildren, Norma, Phyllis and David Benner and Linda Lou Aldredge, the last named the daughter of a deceased son, Dalton.
