Good Citizen Dies Suddenly

Alonzo Allyn, one of the leading and prominent farmers of this county, died suddenly at his home about six miles northeast of the city Sunday (24 Jun 1917) afternoon at 4:00 o'clock, his death being caused by a paralytic stroke.

Mr. Allyn was 63 years 11 months and 24 days old, and is survived by his widow, two sons and three daughters, who have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad and sudden bereavement.

The funeral services were conducted from the Miller Church Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, the services being in charge of Rev. Arnold of Carmi, Ill. Interment in the Miller (Mount Pleasant) cemetery.
