SIDNEY ALLYN

1883

Western Star, Mt. Vernon, IN Thurs Oct 25, 1883, pg. 1

Squire Sid Allyn returned from the West, Saturday (20 Oct 1883) morning, and in about two hours after arriving at the residence of his sister in this city, Mrs. Duckworth, he breathed his last. He resided at Farmersville, but several years since was elected a justice of the peace, since which time he has been doing business in this city. He has been suffering with diabetes for a number of years, and in July last concluded that a trip to his brother in Kansas would benefit his health. He left there on Tuesday morning, considerably better, but on the road home took a relapse with the above result. The squire leaves a family and large circle of friends to mourn his death. His remains were interred in the Farmersville (Moore) Cemetery Sunday afternoon.
