JAMES H ANDERSON

James H. Anderson, 69, Austin, Tex; a retired mail carrier and a former resident of the Bufkin vicinity, died very unexpectedly shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday (14 Aug 1954) in the office of a Mt. Vernon physician.

Mr. Anderson, a native of White county, Ill., and his wife, nee Ora Renshaw, also a White county native were visiting in the home of Mrs. Anderson's cousin, Mrs. Arnold Burris, and Mr. Burris, 1402 N. Main Street.

Convulsions produced by uremia poisoning were fatal.

The Andersons arrived in White county, Ill., recently from Texas for a visit and last Thursday came to the Burris home in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Anderson had been in poor health for several months and complained of feeling badly, Friday although he and his wife drove to Evansville that day.  Saturday morning Mrs Anderson and the Burrises prevailed upon Mr. Anderson to consult a physician and he and his wife drove to a local physician's office.  The seizures developed before the doctor could begin his examination and death occurred a few minutes later.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Missionary Baptist church at Carmi, Ill., followed by burial in Big Prairie cemetery there.

Surviving, in addition to the wife, are a son, Wendell G., San Diego, Calif; a grandson; two brothers, William and Ebert Anderson, Brownsville, Ill., and four sisters, Mrs. C. E. Bingman and Mrs. C. W. Hughes, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Oscar Holderby and Mrs. Clyde Holderby, Hayworth, Ill.
