Victor P. Banet, 85, of Princeton, died Monday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville after a nine weeks illness.

Mr. Banet was born September 13, 1885 in New Albany.  He had resided in Princeton the past 6 years.  Mr. Banet was a retired Machinist with Southern Railway.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Mr. Banet was also a member of K. O C. and I.A. of Machinist.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Banet; one daughter, Mrs. Reinhardt Groeger of Evansville and two sons, Richard V. Banet and Gerald E. Banet of Princeton; one sister, Miss Caroline Banet of Princeton and 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Princeton with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Rev. Father Adolph Eggloff will officiate.

Friends may call at Colvin and son Mortuary after 3:30 p.m. Thursday.  The Rosary will be prayed at the Mortuary at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Services for Victor A. Banet, prominent member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, were held Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. at a Concelebrated Funeral high mass with the Rev. Adolph Eggloff,  pastor, the Rev. Charles Banet, a nephew and President of Saint Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Indiana and the Rev. Conrad Louis, O.S.B. of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, as Co-Celebrants officiating.

The Saint Joseph Children's Choir sang the solemn Funeral Mass accompanied by Mrs. August Wolfe, as organist.

The Rev. Father Conrad Louis, O.S.B. delivered a fitting eulogy of his departed friend.

Graveside services followed with burial in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Princeton
