William G. Barnett, 73, of Mt. Vernon, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday Jan 20, 1988 at his home.

The Democratic precinct committeeman was an honorary deacon at First Christian Church and a member of the Lions and Civitan clubs.

Surviving are his wife, Laura; and a sister, Martha J. Schwartz of Evansville.

Private services were Friday at Tygart Funeral Home with burial in Poseyville Cemetery.
