JOB BARTER

DEATH COMES TO MARRS RESIDENT

Funeral services were held Saturday for Job Barter, 87, a retired farmer, highly respected Marrs township citizen and a life-time resident of the same farm, who died Wednesday night, May 26, at his home.  He had been ill for the last two months.

 

He was a representative of two prominent South Posey county families and was a son of Richard Barter and Susan Oliver Barter.

 

Funeral services were held at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Burial was in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

 

Mr. Barter was a member of St. John's Methodist Church at Caborn for many years and Rev. Millard Brittingham, minister of St. John's Church, was the officiating clergyman at the funeral and burial rites.

 

Surviving are the wife, nee Elizabeth Abigt; a son, Arthur J. Barter, R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
