RICHARD F BARTER

 

April 4, 1955

 

Richard F. Barter, 48, a successful farmer and a life-long resident on R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon died at his home at 4:15 a.m. Sunday (3 Apr 1955).  He had been ill the last year.

 

He and his brother, Oscar, were well-known farming operators east of Mt. Vernon.

 

The deceased, a graduate of Mt. Vernon High school in 1925, resided with his mother, Mrs. Mathilde Schreiber Barter, and brother.  He was never married.  His father was the late William Barter.

 

The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home where Rev. Theodore M. Haefele, pastor of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Marrs township, will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Short-Niehaus chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.

 

The deceased was a member of Immanuel Church and Mt. Vernon lodge, No. 49, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

 

The mother and brother survive.
