Word has been received of the death of Tadeu
(Ted) Baston, of Barretos,
Sao Paulos
He drowned in a canoe accident in September of 1980. Ted and
two friends were in a canoe on a large lake when huge waves came up and over
turned their canoe before they could reach shore. Ted, a good swimmer,
was helping one of the boys in distress and drowned. The other two boys
barely reached the shore.
