CECLIA BENDER

Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Francis Xavier church in Poseyville for Mrs. Ceclia Bender, 54, who passed away Thursday (15 Mar 1945) afternoon of last week.  The Rev. Father John Schenk officiated at the services.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

 

Mrs. Bender had been ailing all winter and had spent most of the time during the past couple of months at St. Mary's hospital in Evansville being a patient there at the time of her passing.

 

She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Francis Xavier Catholic church and was active in church affairs.

 

Mrs. Bender, nee Cecilia Helen Angermeier, was a native of Vanderburgh county.

 

Thirty-three years ago she was married to Henry Bender and they first made their home in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood about two miles southeast of Poseyville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bender have lived in this vicinity ever since they were married, moving to their present home northeast of Cynthiana in 1932.

 

Surviving are the husband, Henry; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Davis, Cynthiana, and Carolyn and Virginia, at home; six sons, Benjamin, of Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, Ivan, of Cynthiana,and Joe, Fred, Harold and Jimmy, at home; four grandchildren, Jay, Keith, Bill and Don Davis, Cynthiana; four brothers, N. J. , Elmer, and Leo J Angermeier, Mt. Vernon, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sebastan of Washington, D.C. and Sister Mary Elise, St. Mary’s of the Woods.
