EVANSVILLE - Mrs. Gladys Davies Bevers,
93, of the Rathbone Home, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Welborn
Hospital. She had been ill since January.
Mrs. Bevers retired in 1953 from Central High School, where she had taught for eight years as
director of the art department. Mrs. BEVERS also taught school in
Dillsboro, Mt. Vernon, Chicago and Oklahoma.
Surviving are a son, James M.; two half brothers of California and
South Carolina; two half sisters of new York and Arizona; and three grandsons,
David, Mike and Danny Bevers all of Evansville.
Services were 11 a.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home, the Rev.
Joe Hodge officiating, burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
