EARL BLACKBURN

Earl Blackburn, 48, a former Black township school bus driver and for several years owner-operator of a dry cleaning and pressing plant at 305 College Avenue in Mt. Vernon, present location of Stein Cleaners, died early Friday (7 Mar 1958) in Wichita, KS.

The deceased and his family left Mt. Vernon several years ago and resided in California prior to location in Wichita.

Funeral and burial services will be conducted Sunday in Wichita.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Jackson and Mrs. William G. Holler and son left Mt. Vernon Friday for Wichita to attend the funeral. Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Holler are sisters of the deceased's wife, the former Marie Allen.

Mr. Blackburn was a native of Posey County, a son of Lemuel Blackburn and Mollie Russell Blackburn. The father is deceased. The mother now resides in Hutchinson, KS, where her son, Ebson, owns and operates a dry cleaning firm.

Survivors, in addition to the wife, mother and brother, are two daughters, Mrs. Oliver Fezzler, Wichita, and Mrs. Robert Hoyt, CA, and a son, Robert Blackburn, TX.
