LOUCRETIA ALLEN BLUE

New Harmony, Ind - Special - Mrs. Loucretia Allen Blue, 85, widow of William S. Blue, a Mt. Vernon businessman for many years died at 4:40 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Bautz in Harmony township where she had resided.  She had been ill for a year and a half.

 

A native of Wadesville vicinity, Mrs. Blue spent most of her life in Mt. Vernon.  Mr. Blue died eight years ago.

 

The body of Mrs. Blue is at the Shoultz-Werry Funeral Home in New Harmony where friends are invited to call, beginning at 7 o'clock this evening.

 

A private funeral service will be conducted in the Shoultz-Werry chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday by Rev. Ralph E. Miller, pastor of First Evangelical United Brethren Church of Mt. Vernon.  Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery.  The family request no floral offerings.

 

The deceased was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Carmi, Ill., and a woman of very find Christian character.

 

Surviving in addition to the daughter, Mrs. Bautz, are another daughter, Mrs. Ralph H.Staple, Mt. Vernon; a son, Walter Blue, Troy, Ind; five grandchildren and four great grandchilren.

 

Mrs Blue's parents were James M. Allen and Sarah Hutson Allen of Wadesville vicinity.
