Mrs. Mattie Boren of Cynthiana died at the age of 89 on Friday morning at Owensville Convalescent Center.

 

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mary Lockwood of Poseyville; one stepson, Ermal Boren of Cynthiana, and on step-grandchild.

 

Services were at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Cynthiana chapel, with burial in Poseyville Cemetery.

 

Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Saturday at Werry Funeral Chapel, Poseyville.

RITES HELD FOR MATTIE CALE BOREN

Mrs. Mattie Cale Boren of Cynthiana died at 1:15 a.m. Friday at the Owensville Convalescent Center where she had resided for the past two years.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Werry Chapel in Cynthiana with the Rev. Rice kello officiating.  Burial was in Poseyville Cemetery.

 

A daughter of Mary and Oscar Cale, Mrs. Boren was born Aug 31, 1884 in southern Gibson county.

 

Her early life was spent in Poseyville.  she was an active member of Poseyville Christian Church.  She also was a member of Cynthiana chapter, Order of Eastern Star and the Gibson County Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

 

She married Franklin Boren in 1927 and resided in Gibson County for many years.

 

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Lockwood, R. R. 2, Poseyville; a stepson, Ermal Boren, Cynthiana; two step granddaughters, Mrs. Wayne Anderson and Sarah Boren, both of Cynthiana; a niece, Mrs. Jane Russler, Evansville; a nephew, James Cale Lockwood, R. R. 2, Poseyville; three great nephews and two great nieces.
