WALTER A (BUCK) CURTIS

Walter A (Buck) Curtis, a retired farmer who observed his 92nd birthday last December 23 and who had spent his entire life in his native Posey county died at
7:15 p.m. Tuesday (18 Jan 1955).

Death came to the aged man at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Yeida,
908 W. Fourth street.  mt. Curtis had been in failing health for three years.  He had been in a coma for the last five days following a stroke. Both of Mr. Curtis' parents were natives of Posey county.  He wa a son of Amox curtis and Harriett Hill Curtis, representatives of pioneer local families.

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for
2 p.m. Friday in the Weisinger chapel.  Burial will be in Black cemetery.  Rev. Ernest Hopper, pastor of Mt. Vernon Church of the Nazarene will conduct the service.

Mr. Curtis' wife nee Fannie Bennett, is deceased.  Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Yeida, Mt. Vernon and Miss Inez Curtis, New Castle, Ind; three sons, John R; Walter D and Louis O, all of Mt. Vernon and vicinity, and 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
