BEULAH DARNELL

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Weisinger Funeral Home chapel for Mrs. Beulah Darnell, 62, who died at 12:30 o'clock Sunday (4 Jul 1954) morning in the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.  Rev. J. Kenneth Forbes, minister of
First Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Bellefontaine cemetery.

Mrs. Darnell had been removed to the hospital just a few days prior to her death.  She had resided at
1015 East Water Street.

Near surviving relatives are two sons, Malcom Kesssler, Mt. Vernon, and Loren Kessler, New Harmony; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Hoff, Evansville, Mrs Marery Kessler and Mrs. Jack Hedges, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. John Hubert, Minneapolis, Minn; three sisters, Raymond Topper, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. August Krummel and Mrs. William Sipple, St. Louis; a brother, Charles Bonenberger, St. Louis and nine grandchildren.

Two children of the deceased met tragic deaths.  A son was accidentally killed as he was walking along State Highway 69 north of
Mt. Vernon and another son met death when he was accidentally shot.  Both tragedies occurred a number of years ago.  Mrs. Darnell was a member of General Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Topper, Everett Topper, Richard Topper, Phillips Kessler, Walter Krummel and Floyd Gabel.
