HATTIE ELLEN BENNER DAVID

 

65, a highly respected life-long resident of Marrs township and a member of a prominent Marrs township family died at 12:13 a.m. today (7 Dec 1953) in the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.  She was the wife of Harvey A David, a Marrs township farmer.

 

A daughter of James A Benner and Lucinda Darnell Benner, Mrs. David had spent her entire life as a resident of the same farm, the Benner homestead.

 

A lengthly illness of a complication of diseases was fatal.  She entered the hospital for the last time five days prior to her death.

 

The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon where Rev. Rodney Holdier, Owensville General Baptist Church pastor will conduct the funeral service in the Short Niehaus chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Burial will be in the West Franklin (Dixon) cemetery.

 

Mrs. David was a member of the former Old Union General Baptist Church east of Mt. Vernon.

 

Surviving, in addition to the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Heines, Evansville; a granddaughter, Carlo Jo Heines; two brothers, Lee and Angelo Benner, Mt. Vernon and four sisters, Mrs. John M Cully, Mrs. Lula Derrington and Mrs. Bertha Sartain all of Evansville, and Mrs. Lawrence Culley, R1, Mt. Vernon.
