FRED PHILLIP DAVIS

Fred Phillip Davis, 52, a machinist who was born and spent most of his life in Mt. Vernon residing on College avenue, died very suddenly at 11 p.m. Saturday (24 Jul 1954) at his home at 2313 W. Maryland street in Evansville.  A coronary attack was fatal.

 

Mr. Davis and his family left Mt. Vernon a year and a half ago.  They resided in Florida for six months and from there moved to Evansville where they had lived since.

 

The body is at the Short Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there through the funeral service set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Short-Niehaus chapel.  Rev. August E. Binder, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, of which the deceased was a member, will be the officiating clergyman.  Burial will be in Old Beech (Bethany) cemetery in East Lynn township.

 

The deceased was a member of Posey Aerie, No 1717, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

 

Surviving are the wife, Beulah Travis Davis, two sons, Fred Philip, Jr., U. S. Army, stationed in Korea, and James Abner, Evansville; a daughter, Wanda K. Evansville and one grandchild.

 

The deceased was the son of Abner Davis and Charlotte Dietz Davis.
