LAWRENCE DAWS

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Short Funeral Home chapel in Mt. Vernon and in Beech Grove Cemetery in West Lynn township for Lawrence Daws, 81, well-known retired Black township farmer who died Saturday (4 Oct 1952) morning at the Alison Nursing Home in Poseyville. He had been ill for the last four months.

 

Rev. Paul Howard, Methodist minister at Francisco, Ind and former pastor of the North Mt. Vernon Methodist Parish, was the officiating clergyman. Pallbearers were Edgar Aldredge, Beuford Reeves, Samuel Alldredge, Elmer La Duke, Bill Alldredge, and Raymond Sturm.

 

The deceased was a life long resident of South Posey county. He was born near Caborn a son of William Daws and Eliza DeVine Daws.

 

Surviving are three sons, Winfred Daws, Detroit, Marion Daws, Cincinnati, and Eddie Daws, Mt. Vernon, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Daws, the wife nee Elizabeth Alldredge is deceased.
