IDA RUTH DICKHAUT

Mrs.Ida Ruth Dickhaut, 42, wife of Dr. Walter R. Dickhaut, pastor of First Methodist Church at Sidney, Ohio died yesterday in Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney after two years' illness of carcinoma.

 

She had frequently visited in Mt Vernon with her husband who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dickhaut, R. R. 2, Mt. Vernon.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at Sidney.  A service in First Methodist church there will be followed by burial in Graceland cemetery.

 

Dr. and Mrs. Dickhaut were married in 1929.  Mrs. Dickhaut was a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College of Berea, Ohio, and met her husband while she was attending college.  She took a very active interest in her husband's pastorates at Marietta, Portsmouth, Dayton, Fostoria and Sidney, all in Ohio, utilizing a find contralto voice in the ministry of music of his pastorates.

 

Surviving in addition to the husband, are three children, Miss Ruth Ida, Walter, Jr., and Carolyn Mae, all at home; a stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Dauenhauer, Cincinnati, and a half-brother, Wesley Dauenhauer, Philadelphia.
