MAUDE EDMONSON DUCKWORTH

Mrs Maude Edmonson Duckworth, 59, a resident of Mt. Vernon and Posey county most of her life, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday at the home of her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kenneth Duckworth, 504 West Second Street.

 

In failing health for several years and seriously ill for the last three months, Mrs. Duckworth came to the home of her son, in May, this year, from Evansville, where she had resided since 1940.

 

She was a native of Posey county, the daughter of Sol Edmonson and Anzie Hill Edmonson.  Her church affiliation was with Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church at Bufkin.

 

The body will remain at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home until noon Thursday when it will be taken to Mt. Pleasant Church for the funeral service there at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.  Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

 

The family request that contributions be made to the Cancer Fund instead of floral offerings.

 

Surviving are the son, William Kenneth Duckworth, Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs James Klausmeier, Evansville; two grandchildren, and three brothers, Loyd, James and Berta Edmonson all of Evansville.
