Flint, Mich. -- Katie Simpson Elder, 90, of Flint, Mich., died Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Midland Hospital.
Funeral services were held 3pm Friday at Central Christian Church in Flint, with burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Mrs. Elder was born in Indiana, November 19,
1890, the
daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth Simpson of Griffin. She went to Flint from Indiana in 1916. She was a member of Central
Christian Church.
Mrs. Elder was a teacher in Indiana Public School and held a lifetime teaching certificate
prior to moving to Michigan.
Surviving are two sons, Charles of Midland Michigan, and James of
Nashville, Tenn., six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Simpson of Poseyville,
Mrs. Maxine Watson and Mrs. Marjorie Snively of New Harmony attended the funeral services for Mrsl Elder. Mrs. Watson, Mrs. Snively
and Mr. Simpson were nieces and nephew of Mrs. Elder.
