JERROD L ELMENDORF

MOUNT VERNON - Jerrod L. Elmendorf, 29, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2006, as the result of an accident.

 

Jerrod was employed at the City of Evansville Water Department.

 

He was a member of First Christian Church, River Bend Association, Outboard Boating Club and Small Craft Boater Association. He enjoyed doing mechanical work for family and friends, boating, four wheeling, working in his yard and garage and playing games with his son.

 

He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Christy (Svestka) Elmendorf, his son, Alex, his mother and her husband, Elaine (Schmitt) and Michael Zimmer, and his father and his wife, Mark and Cathy Elmendorf, all of Evansville. Three brothers, Brandon Zimmer and his fiancée, Marissa Brown, Nick Zimmer and his fiancée, Audrey Merkley, all of Mt. Vernon, and Brian Sigward of Evansville; his sister, Stefanie Wolf and her husband, Steve, of Evansville; grandparents, Gerald and Marilyn Zimmer of Newburgh, Norman and Helen Schmitt of St. Wendel and Marge and Theodore Hoesli of Santa Claus, Indiana; a niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and Tyler Wolf; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cindy and Robert Martin; his father-in-law, Michael H. Svestka; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Neil and Tarah Martin, Sarah and Jake Svestka and Tina Doty; and many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Marguerite Elmendorf, his aunt, Gayle Williams, and uncles, Randy Hoesli and Dennis Schmitt.

 

Funeral services for Jerrod will begin at 10 a.m. today, November 8, 2006, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Mitch Stitchler and Rev. Kenneth Herr officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.

 

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alex Elmendorf Education Trust Fund, c⁄o Fifth Third Bank in Evansville.
