WALTER A (JERRY) ERWIN

 

April 11, 1955

Walter A. (Jerry) Erwin, 62, a plasterer and life-long resident of South Posey county, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday (10 Apr 1955) at his home at 605 James street.

 

He had been ill for a year of a stomach ailment and seriously ill for the last week.

 

The deceased was a native of the Farmersville community, a son of Thomas Erwin and Maggie Duckworth Erwin.  He was a veteran of military service in World War I.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home and will remain there through the funeral service set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Weisinger chapel.  Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery at Bufkin.  Rev. Arthur Blackburn, a retired General Baptist minister, will conduct the religious service and Owen Dunn post, No. 5, American Legion, will be in charge of military rites at the grave.

 

Surviving are a son, Thomas, Mt. Vernon, and a brother, and sister, Elisha Erwin and Mrs. Joseph Kuhn, of the Farmersville vicinity.
