MARGARET JOURDAN ESPENLAUB

Mrs. Margaret Jourdan Espenlaub, 89, a representative of a prominent Marrs township family and the widow of Henry Espenlaub, died at 2;30 A.M. today at her home on R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon, on the old Mt. Vernon, Evansville state road.  She had been seriously ill only a few days.

 

She was a life-long resident of Marrs township and a member of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church.

 

The body is at the Short Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there until it is taken to Immanuel Church in Marrs for the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Monday.  Rev. Theodore M. Haefele, Immanuel pastor, will officiate at services at the church and at the grave in the church cemetery.

 

Surviving are two son, Henry and John; four daughters, Mrs. William F. Hausmann, Mrs. George F. Deig, Emma H. Espenlaub and Alice M Espenlaub; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  All are residents of Marrs except Mrs. Deig who life in Evansville.  A daughter, Lula died 11 years ago.

 

The decease was a daughter of Jacob and Margaret Jourdan natives of Germany.
