William G. "Bill" Freeman, 63, formerly of Evansville, passed away on Monday,
Nov. 20, 2006,
at his home in New Harmony, Ind., after his long fight with prostate
cancer.
William was born in Indianapolis, Ind., an only child of Naomi
Cox. He spent most of his early childhood years living in Austin, Texas, before his mother moved them to Kokomo, Ind., during his senior year of high school.
He followed Notre Dame Football and enjoyed watching them play, but he LOVED
his Indiana Hoosiers and would tell everyone he "bled red and white."
He retired from Husk Signs after spending most of his career in dealer sales at
MAB Paints. During the years following his retirement he volunteered at Harmonie State Park. He was an avid camper and found such
peace and tranquility in being outdoors with nature. He loved spending his days
with his golden retriever, Buddy. Buddy was given to him by his nephew, Jordan Tuley. Even though Buddy was Jordan's dog (since a puppy); Jordan felt his uncle Bill needed Buddy, so he
could feel better. William served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam
War.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Leslie; his children,
Teresa Irven and her husband Steve of Columbia City,
Ind., David and Lynne Freeman of Fayetteville, Ark., Todd and Dr. Eve Zyzick
Hammonds of East Lansing, Mich., and Tracy Hansen of Juneau, Alaska. He is also survived by five
grandchildren, Melissa Didier and her husband Dave, Jennifer Irven, Tasha Hansen, Andrew
Freeman and Zachary Freeman.
William may have been an only child, but when he married into the Tuley family he found a family of brothers and sisters who
adopted him and loved him as though he had always been their older brother. He
is also survived by many friends and family too numerous to mention, including
his church family at The Turning Pointe.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Ziemer
Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave., with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony, Ind., Pastor Steve Walker
officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Ziemer
Central Chapel, where a "Celebration of his Life" will be held at 6 p.m.
If William ever made you laugh or did a good deed for you, please
write it down and share it with his wife and children at the 6 p.m. service on Friday evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
"The Bill Freeman Handicap Fishing Pier and walkway Fund" established
at any Fifth Third Bank. This fund will be used to build a handicap walkway and
fishing dock for special needs children and adults to enable them to go fishing
